Join a week-long linguistics summer school on language change, complete the full programme and earn 3 ECTS credits from Vilnius University.
MA-Students and early-career researchers in linguistics are invited to apply for the Academia Grammaticorum Salensis Vigesima Tertia summer school, which will take place from July 26 to August 1, 2026, in Antalieptė, Lithuania.
This year’s programme, titled “Language Change Inside and Out”, focuses on internal and external triggers of language change. The courses address topics such as diachronic construction grammar, contact-induced language change and inferential statistics. The summer school combines theoretical input with empirical, corpus-based and quantitative approaches.
The programme is aimed primarily at advanced MA students, PhD students and early-career researchers in linguistics, especially those interested in historical linguistics, areal linguistics, sociolinguistics, typology, corpus linguistics and quantitative methods. Participants who attend all courses and complete the required tasks will receive 3 ECTS credits from Vilnius University.
The participation fee is 320 EUR and includes tuition, accommodation in shared rooms, full board, coffee breaks, opening and closing receptions, participation in the conference day and bus transport from Vilnius to Antalieptė and back. A reduced fee of 270 EUR applies to members of the Academia Salensis association.
